Longevity in anything means you are doing something right. For over 60 years, The Kayes Company, Inc. has provided professional industry insight, guidance, personable service, and the right mix of products to the aftermarket. Kayes' founder, AL Kayes, summed it up in one sentence:
- Don't promise more than you can deliver and always keep your promises. — Al Kayes
In 1948, Al Kayes founded The Kayes Company. Through diligence and perseverance he created one of the best and well respected agencies in the Midwest and nationally. Al retired in 1982 and passed away in May of 1985.
Tom Gilliam purchased the company in 1975 and in December of 2002 Pat Sheffer acquired the company from a retiring Mr. Gilliam. Both Tom Gilliam and Pat Sheffer were long time employees of the company. Pat today continues the traditions and company policies that forged the professional organization that is The Kayes Company today!
In today’s business, world everything is expected “yesterday.” Advancement in technology has made the communication process much easier, but the one key factor that sets Kayes apart: we still believe in getting to know the face behind the voice. Kayes wants to know how our services and products help add to your bottom line and how they help you achieve your business and personal goals.

Kayes has five full-time sales professionals, two independent representatives, and a home base in Lewis Center, Ohio (a northern suburb of Columbus, Ohio) to service you.
Our Territory
Our Midwest territory includes Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia, Lower Michigan, and Western Pennsylvania.
